We need to arrive at Loveland Canoe no later than 9:30am with payment and signed waivers. We’ll be fitted with life jackets, watch a short film on safety and be given a very short talk on how to paddle a canoe. Then we’ll be taken to the place where we’ll put our canoes in the water and paddle back down to Loveland Canoe. We will be doing the 5 mile trip which can last between 2-3 hours. For my family, I'm bringing a non-styrofoam cooler (the canoe places don't want people using syrofoam coolers) with drinks and snacks, bungee corded shut with a couple of extra bungee cords to strap it to the canoe. I’m also bringing a plastic grocery bag for garbage. It’s suggested to put anything that can’t get wet in a water proof container or leave it in the car (remember that things that go overboard may sink!). It’s recommended to wear old clothes (t-shirt & med. to long shorts) or bathing suits (girls might want to wear shorts over/instead of their bottoms) with a shirt in case you start getting too much sun. Also, old gym shoes, water shoes or heavy duty sandals that strap to your feet, sunblock, cheap sunglasses, and if you are an adult you might want a cushion to sit on! Please remember, life vests are provided and MUST be worn by everyone. Everyone MUST have a signed waiver!
